Chapter 7: Go Moo
Dear Diary:
My life is getting stupid strange. I'm not sure whether or not to make sense of it.
I don't know if this is the right entry for my diary or not. I don't know it I care.
Why am I okay?
"Because you need to be okay."
I don't understand how Chief Geordi gets me so well. I think I'm okay with it though.
"Look friend, you are the one who needs to be okay while nothing makes sense around you. That's part of why you're so good at your job. That's why you're here. Because you can withstand nothing making sense around you, and yet you can pick out exactly what needs to be seen. You are the best for your job, and that's why you're okay. Even though you're not okay."
It bothers me that I knew what he meant. I am okay, and am not okay at the same time. I guess that's life though. maybe that should be the real diary entry.
Dear Diary:
P.S.: I guess I'm okay and not okay at the same time.
Anyway, it's time to prepare for the journey. I'm still so excited. I can't wait to see my friend. I'd better go tell Cynthie... Cynthia that we need to get ready.
"Maybe you'd better hang the phone up first. These international calls can't be cheap."
I grabbed the phone that had just been dangling by a cord. "Uh yes. Um... wow... I guess there was a bit of excitement there and I forgot I was still on the phone. Um... yeah... I guess I'll see you in a... in a little while."
"Hey before you hang that phone up, why don't you take an answer or two. Geordie and I were in cahoots a little bit. I just wanted to mess with you and no, I don't think that bluetooth or any such technology can work in your building. Y'know, he called me first before you did. It's not exactly common in your line of work but... you're working for good people. Reallly good people. Your boss really looks out for you, you know. Just remember that, and remember..."
"Yeah?"
"This is hopefully gonna sound a little bit weird, but as soon as you remember the rules, remember to tell then to your friend Cynthie, okay?"
"I suppose I can manage that."
"Good. You're in good hands, and she is too. I'll be looking forward to seeing you. До свидания."
I just about forgot to hand up the phone again, but CG gave me the eyebrow and I remembered to do it. Well, now it's time to pack up, and to tell Cynthia to meet me at the airport.
Dear Diary:
I am okay
Well, if he's okay, then I guess we're okay.
I wonder what the next chapter will be like? What are the rules? Stay tuned, and maybe we can find out together.
