jawsh.mccullaugh.com -- The Aliens who stole Christmas. Or
gave it. Whatever.
The Time-Shift Theory:
Okay, so one of my friends and I came up with
this theory that Aliens came by and knocked us all out for a couple
months. This started when we were trying to figure out why we
were in a Christmas mood. I started this out as a joke, but
everything adds up. It was colder than it was supposed to be this
last weekend, I found a watch buried under a bunch of crap in a corner
that was a few months ahead, and it took me only 6 months of
procrastination in order to redesign this website (which still has
bugs). You're probably wondering where this theory came from, and
I'm going to tell you, so that you'll know it's true.
It started out with "Deck the halls." Then it
turned into "Frosty the snowman". And then all sorts of Christmas
songs got stuck in my head. Of course, this may just be due to
the fact that I've been hearing Christmas carols on the radio, but I
think that it's something deeper. I mean, why would all these
songs be playing on the radio this early? Unless the D J's
themselves had Christmas spirit.
One of my friends confessed to getting these songs
stuck in their head. Then another, and another, and another until
there were many people on Facebook all asking the same question, "Why
do I have Christmas songs stuck in my head before Thanksgiving?"
Then, some of my friends went Christmas tree shopping, and I had begun
to grow very suspicious.
Getting on Facebook once again, I find that yet
another friend noticed herself singing Christmas carols when I came up
with an idea. What if it were some type of disease? Better
yet, what if it was some Alien mutation of the Swine
Flu. And why is the weather beginning
to match Christmas? I then knew: Aliens had invaded our planet,
causing us all to become unconscious so that they could probe our
minds. What to do now? My secret recipe for Macaroni and
Cheese had been exposed to the universe. Fortunately not on Earth
though. If everyone on Earth knew it, they would wonder how?
"Wondering how..."
That raises another issue, How to not let the humans notice that
they've been unconscious for several months? They finally came up
with the solution: Change all the clocks. It pretty much
worked. If one or two aren't reset, the humans won't
notice. But they forgot one important detail: The weather.
It's cold outside (or at least, days here and
there). Too cold for October, but cold enough for
Christmas. And so our minds subconsciously began to think of
Christmas. We thought of the part of Christmas that's so very
recognizable and so very contagious: Christmas carols. And one
started singing, and then another, and another, and before you know it,
it going around faster than the swine flu. And now everyone has
premature Christmas spirit, thanks to invading aliens.
Update:
The friend that helped me come up with the theory that aliens invaded
out planet and probed our minds actually saw one. She claims that
they're hiding in the clouds. Maybe they were reading my site and
changed the weather back so no one would notice. Just a thought.
