This is what jawsh.mccullaugh.com used to look like. This area up here was used for announcements, or just to say stupid stuff.
You may have been redirected here if you clicked a link to an old article that hasn't been converted to the new format. There's currently no need to update your bookmarks, I don't believe in breaking URL's.
jawsh.mccullaugh.com -- I wonder if these instructions could
be converted to another language with VLC.
Converting wma to mp3 with VLC
One of my friends wanted to convert her wma songs into mp3 songs.
Since she had a mac, I told her to get VLC since I knew that VLC works
on a Macintosh. (Update: She tried it and told me that VLC has a
completely different interface on the mac.) Then I told her I'd
upload a video onto this site
with a tutorial on how to use VLC to convert these files.
Unfortunately, the audio sucks, so I decided to write down the steps to
the process here as well.
1. Get VLC.
2. Get a wma file
3. Start VLC.
4. Click the Media menu.
5. Click Convert / Save
6. Select File to convert
7. Click File Check box.
8. Click Browse next to file input box.
9. Select place and file name to put new mp3 file.
10. Set profile to mp3.
11. Click save.
