Our Favorite Detective trying to figure out how to solve this one

Chapter 5: Uh-Oh

Yup, I'm not off the hook yet.

Cynthia spoke up.

"I'm so sorry honey. Look, I lied to you for your protection."

"You lied to me for my protection? Honey, you know that I hate it when people try to protect my feelings, and I hate it when you feel like you can't talk to me. Of course you can talk to me, I'm your husband."

Cynthia looked confused for a second. "Your feelings, wha?" You could see it straight in her face, her trying to figure the situation out. "Oh! Nononononononononononononononono. Goodness not that. There's no way. Ohhhhhhh my goodness that is not what's going on here. I work here. I lied to you about where I work for your physical protection. I'm a police detective, I don't work at the mustard factory anymorrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaand crap. You've got to understand how it's really really important that you don't know that."

"Actaully, I've got a question," I piped in. "I've written about at least one of our adventures in a report that ended up publically available, not just in the public information office, but online at FrillerWorks, and Cynthia's been listed as the lead detective in the Hickleflour case, which was mentioned in the newspaper and on T.V. How have you managed to not figure this out?"

"Oh, that one's simple," Cynthia said plainly. "He's not one much for news."

"Tis true," chimed Richard, seemingly sufficed in the knowledge that things were alright between him and his wife.

"We really do have a problem though," exclaimed Cynthia. "You could be in very actual horrific danger if we don't find some way to solve this situation." She looked extremely worried.

The End.
