The Bad Guy:

Part 12: Cynthia?

I looked over to my left and saw Ann standing there. Except that her name is actually Cynthia. I forgot that for a second. I do that from time to time. Like this one time when I did something and later forgot what it was. That last sentence would have been a lot better if I would have remembered the details, but then it would have been a bad example toward the situation. Actually, come to think of it, any example would have not been good. This is a situation where only bad examples work. Makes you wonder why the teachers always told me not to be a bad example in school. I mean, a good example works in certain places, but a bad example goes everywhere. Man, somehow there's something terribly wrong with that statement. But then again, there's something terribly wrong with this situation too.

"Cynthia? What are you doing here? Don't you know that..."

"That's right," said the paper bag man. "She's been working for me all along. And now that you're all tied up here, you won't be able to stop us from our evil plan."

"What evil plan?"

"Like I'd tell you. You're a detective. That means you work for the government. If you know, then the government would know. And the government can't know."

"So... you could have just not told me and then no one would have known and you could have just done your evil deed and gotten away with it." Me and my big mouth. Why did I have to say that? I could have just gotten by without saying anything. Which just so happened to be the main point of what I was trying to say to begin with.

"See, I was trying to tell you all along, but you just wouldn't listen to me. Cythia, you idiot," exclaimed the paper bag man in an annoyed tone.

"You think I'm the idiot?" retorted Cynthia. "I'm the one that convinced you to even get a detective involved in your vicious horrible crime. You think that I'm the idiot? Ha! I don't know why you trusted me, but it's a good thing for all our sakes that you did. And now you're going to pay for your crime. Go ahead, tell him what you were planning to do. It's all over for you anyways. There isn't going to be any way out for you now."

"I've waited to long for this! I'm not stopping now just because some woman thinks that she's better than me."

"But you forget something. How do you think I got him over to this exact location, while keeping him oblivious? That's right, the chief of police knows all about this. And he's got a team of officers waiting for you right outside. You're going down. Oh yes, Avery Lablmeeistur, you are going down."

"EVERYONE IN THE BUILDING STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE! THIS IS GEORDI KWRAKKNSVR AND NOT ONLY DO I HAVE A VERY HARD LAST NAME TO PRONOUNCE, I'M THE CHEIF OF POLICE." Funny thing about the word police, it ends with lice. Did not notice that until right now.

"That's right, your time is up," exclaimed Cynthia in an excited voice. "You won't get to see the light of day for a very long time."

The police came in and took him away in handcuffs. I never did figure out exactly what the evil crime was that he commited. But I do know one thing. Cynthia Walerston is a very cunning talented smart young individual. A very valuable person indeed. So now I've made her my sidekick, and we both fight crime together. And finally, after a long day, we're finally back in Arkwood Pond. Good Ol' Arkwood Pond. That's where I belong.
