I Cause A Tear

I'm going to step out of character for a second here. This is Joshua McCullaugh speaking. Not the Jawsh McCullaugh of Arkwood Pond that is mostly me, but somewhat of a made up character, but the actual real-life Joshua from Ohio speaking here. I'm here to tell you that I've messed up. Not in a major way, but in a minor way, and the only way to fix things is to mess them up just a wee bit more.

You may have noticed that there haven't been many Arkwood Pond related articles and stories posted to this site, and that The Pond Informant has basically stopped updating in over a year. I mean, sure, there are updates to FrillerWorks from time to time, but none of them are Arkwood Pond updates. I mean, I've left a story hanging for an insanely long time. What a mean way to do a cliffhanger...

(Y'know, cause there's never any cliffhangers on this site.)

Anyway, about that story: You may notice that it only goes up to Chapter 3, and then just stops, telling you that I know what's next. Well, yes, I do. And so does fake Jawsh. And so does the announcer. In fact, so does the detective. What I mean to say is that I have a plan for the story, but I'm slightly in over my head. It's a really cool plan that requires a bit of technical knowledge that I don't quite have yet. (Not to mention the issues with trying to draw it correctly.) Anyway, if you're confused, let me just say that Chapter 4 is going to be presented in a slightly unconventional way that I still have yet to figure out how to do.

The main point of what I'm trying to say here is that I'm tired of waiting on myself. Chapter 4 is coming, but it won't be here for another little while. I, however, am not letting that stop me. I'm going to keep writing stuff about Arkwood Pond, even though it should stay at a hold until the whole "Evil Group" story is done, and I'm going to do it with a very stupid plan as well.

I'm ripping the timeline of Arkwood Pond in two!

There's going to be two separate timelines running for a little bit, (but they'll eventually merge). The main timeline (the one with Our Favourite Detective) is going to stay on hold, while the separate timeline is going to progress on. My current plan is to go ahead and move onward with The Pond Informant and the comics. (Yeah, little spoiler here, people from our comics are going to be involved with the detective story. I won't tell you how though!) Bison&Jr.; will move on with the Grandma story, and the paper will keep on reporting stories from around the world, and from Water County.

The idea here is that the second timeline will progress onward like the detective stories are finished. Once the detective stories are caught up, the two timelines will merge together, and hopefully any future readers will not notice that there was ever a rip at all (unless they do some digging). I may or may not actually write the merge in to the stories, but even if I don't, it will eventually become obvious. I haven't decided how I'm handling that yet.

And that's my best plan.

UPDATE: Timeline merge.
